If you are coming to UT really raw, meaning no greek connections what so ever, you have a very large uphill battle. Hard to tell if it is Theta, Zeta or AZD self promoting. Some rely on their old reputation, even though their reality is not quite as shiny. Its obvious that the woman who wrote this didn't like this group because she (or he) mentioned about a hundred times how "Fake" or "Plastic" , etc. Care about money, looks, and highschool GPA. AOE. Just do a search for threads about UT. You clearly are very close-minded and ignorant. They are known for hazing and weak sisterhood. Yes Zeta did well. The sorority touts its diversity, but some say the standards are so loose that theres very little tying all Chi-Os together in terms of personality, looks, campus activity, or academic performance. They can be really snobby to girls on the first day. Kappas are the rich girls some are cute but some are not, they basically let girls in who have financial means. Stop dropping girls only because you think they might go PKT. Because of this genetic characteristic, a Pi Phi is usually at home wearing gold . KD was a well desired house this year by a lot of PNMs and for good reason. It doesn't work all the time, but it works enough of the time that sororities have maintained their popularity among undergrads for more than 120 years. Lot of truth inthe reputations, except there are a lot of really genuine, nice, friendly Pi Phis who are my friends. I have always been anti-sorority and wouldn't have been caught dead joining one myself--but I have changed my mind. Just behind Theta in that respect. GPA requirement, population, "goals") then go Here. Pi Phi: Their PC18 had some snap bids and it seemed like this year girls prefered Zeta and Chi O above Pi Phi. Upper Top Tier: Theta, Pi Phi, Kappa (aka PKT) Most freshmen at all three of their pref nights went PKT. Every house at UT has something to offer. Classy and involved are not words typically used to describe Alpha Phi girls, but fun and popular are. It's definitely not for me though. Zeta only cares about looks. Everyone is different. Some sororities have a bigger reputation for drinking and partying than others. This year, we invited a few juniors to join our house! from my perspective, spirit groups are more laid back and the girls are all . She did not attend any of the right camps or go to the most prestigious high schoolbut she ended up where she should have and she is very, very happy!

Its hard to generalize about a sororitys reputation nationwide; there are many differences from campus to campus. Alpha Omicron Pi - mid tier (strong sisterhood; unique; not academically ambitious; fun; small town girls; down to earth) - Being a sorority with the most chapters around the United States and Canada than any other sorority, their reputations can vary. Chi O Your class is beautiful but that isnt what is most important to some chapters. Recruitment may officially start in August, but the active members of the sororities have been behind the scenes recruiting since the winter and some incoming freshmen have been recruitment targets for years. This reputation is by no means uniform, which may be due to the diversity of girls who pledge KD. Everyone knows at least one KD they really like and one KD they really hate. They can be competitive in Greek life events, which may make them appear to be top tier; however, their focus on socializing can affect their academics and philanthropy initiatives. Depending upon the campus, Tri-Delts are either regarded as lower-end top-tier, or higher-end mid-tier. If you pledge to a sorority and then think it isnt for you, decide on joining before the initiation process.
